The old debate about the shaker pint continues. Craftbeer.com posted an interesting article addressing this issue. I think for the business owner the answer for them is easy. Shaker pints are the way to go for these four reasons:
1. Cost Effective
3. Easy to wash
4. Easy to stack
For the craft beer drinker there couldn't be a worse glass. If you are yellow fizzy beer drinker then it really does not matter to you. My motto is simple, don't just drink beer but experience beer. The experience of the beer is completely taken away when a shaker is pint used. First, the beauty of the beer is gone. I am huge fan of a well poured beer and often will just stare at it before I drink it. Second, all the aroma that plays into the taste quickly disappears because of the wide mouth. Last, your beer becomes warmer more quickly because your hand is always in direct contact with the beer.
Now that I am becoming educated about the pleasures of drinking craft beer I may have to start carrying my own glass.
